The Process Safety Consultant is a full-time, remote role with regular travel to client sites. This position works directly with industrial clients to build, evaluate, and strengthen their process safety programs. Day-to-day tasks include leading and documenting Compliance Audits against OSHA PSM (29 CFR 1910.119) and EPA RMP (40 CFR Part 68) requirements, facilitating and scribing PHAs, conducting Mechanical Integrity audits, and developing complete PSM and RMP programs for new and existing facilities.

The company is looking to hire our next engineer to assist with refrigeration engineering and process safety consulting projects. All training will be provided in various forms: in-house/on-the-job training, onsite and online trainings at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and self-study training to obtain a RETA CARO certificate (Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association, Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator). This role oversees engineering strategy, resource planning, and project execution, aligning engineering priorities with business and client needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding engineering teams, reviewing and approving technical designs and analyses, and coordinating with project managers and consultants to meet deadlines and quality standards. The Director of Engineering will collaborate with leadership to improve processes, implement best practices, and support integration between software, engineering tools, and process safety methodologies. This role also involves mentoring engineers, supporting recruitment, and fostering a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on, detail-driven role to start: document handling, structured data entry, quality control, and learning how information should be organized within the application. No prior experience in process safety or industrial compliance is required. As you learn the product and the domain, you’ll have the opportunity to identify where our processes and tools are slow, repetitive, or error-prone, and help us improve them.
