Last week, our team at Macha PSM had the privilege of attending the 2025 RETA Conference — one of the most energizing and informative events in the ammonia refrigeration and process safety community. It’s always inspiring to gather with professionals who share the same goal we do: keeping people safe, facilities efficient, and programs strong.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this year’s conference was all about connection and learning from one another, exchanging ideas, and celebrating the incredible progress our industry continues to make.
Key Takeaways and Highlights
The RETA agenda was packed with outstanding sessions and workshops that spoke directly to the challenges and opportunities we face in the field.
We found great value in sessions like:
“Addressing Common PSM Challenges Using Industry Standards,” which reminded us how vital it is to stay grounded in best practices while adapting to new expectations.
“Effortless Process Hazard Analyses: A Guide to Make it Easier” is a favorite among our team for its practical strategies to streamline PHA workflows.
“Notification Exercises for RMP-Regulated Facilities” is a timely session reinforcing the importance of preparedness and real-world training.
“Ammonia Mitigation – The 2025 Perspective,” which gave us new insights into evolving safety approaches.
Each session gave us new perspectives to bring back to our clients, reaffirming that process safety isn’t just about compliance — it’s about constant improvement and collaboration.
A Proud Moment: Eli Macha’s Presentation
One of the highlights of the week was seeing our Founder, Eli Macha, take the stage for his presentation, “Mastering PSM: A Strategic Guide to Elevating Your Program.”
Eli spoke about transforming traditional PSM programs into strategic tools that drive performance, engagement, and long-term success. His talk encouraged attendees to look beyond compliance checklists and instead view PSM as a system that can truly empower teams and facilities.
Watching the audience engage, ask questions, and share their own experiences made it clear how needed this kind of discussion is in our industry. It was a proud moment for all of us to see Eli’s expertise and passion resonate with so many professionals who care deeply about doing PSM right.
Connecting with the Industry
One of our favorite parts of RETA each year is the people. We had the chance to meet so many operators, engineers, and industry leaders, each with their own story, challenges, and commitment to safety.
If you stopped by our Macha PSM booth (#1016), thank you! We enjoyed every conversation, every handshake, and every shared laugh. Events like this remind us that behind every system and standard are real people working hard to make their facilities safer and more efficient.
Thank You to RETA and the Sponsors
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to RETA, the conference organizers, and all the
sponsors and exhibitors who made this event possible. The level of planning, knowledge sharing, and hospitality truly made this conference special. It’s partnerships like these that keep our industry moving forward.
From the Macha PSM Team
